Benefiting the Community
Housing and Community Development administers the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as well as housing the local Housing Trust fund. The HUD funds are used in Gilroy to benefit primarily low and moderate income individuals or neighborhood through services or capital projects. The Housing Trust Fund provides housing-related loans and grants.

The Housing and Community Development Division of the Community Development Department announces the availability of two Requests for Proposals (RFP) for the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Housing Trust Fund (HTF) dollars. The first application relates to high need public service projects funded with CDBG and HTF dollars that serve the low-income community of Gilroy. The other relates to a Housing Rehabilitation program funded with CDBG funds that will provide minor repairs, large scale rehabilitation and accessibility improvements also to low income residents of Gilroy. CDBG Substantial Amendment to Annual Action Plans and Funding Priorities Determination for CDBG and Housing Trust Fund funds for FY's 2019-2020 and 2020-2021

​The public is invited to comment on a proposed amendment to  Action Plans for 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018 for Gilroy’s Community Development Block Grant program.
The proposed changes are noted in RED within the Action Plan documents.  Written comments may be provided during the 30-day public review period, as more fully described in the linked documents below.
