The Youth Center operates at Cesar E. Chavez Gym and offers free drop-in activities for youth ages 6 to 17 years. The goal of the Youth Center is to provide a fun, safe atmosphere for youth after school and during the summer. City staff engage youth with homework assistance, fun and educational field trips and recreational activities.
Funding for the Gilroy Youth Center
Funding is provided through the City of Gilroy Community Development Block Grant. The City of Gilroy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or familial status in the administration of its programs or activities. The hearing impaired can reach us through the California Relay System at 7-1-1 or 800-735-2929.
Due to Federal requirements, we are required to receive proof of income from our participant families to support income guidelines. In turn, this allows the Youth Center to receive federal funding and continue to provide FREE services to youth.
