Non-Traditional Recreation

~ Youth Empowerment ~ Supportive Services ~ Culturally Sensitive Approaches ~
The City of Gilroy Recreation Department and the South County Youth Task Force (SCYTF) are committed to engaging disconnected youth and their families to social, recreational and educational programs to support and enhance their quality of life. The City of Gilroy partners with reputable organizations like The Youth Alliance, Community Solutions, and CMAP TV to offer free evening pro-social activities. Programs such as Late Night Gyms, media classes and special internships are offered to provide targeted youth with positive alternatives and a safe environment.
Funding is provided through the City of Gilroy, the South County REACH and One Neighborhood Empowered (ONE) Projects, which are funded in part by the Board of State and Community Corrections' California Gang Reduction Intervention and Prevention Program. The City of Gilroy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or familial status in the administration of its programs or activities. The hearing impaired can reach us through the California Relay System at 7-1-1 or 800-735-2929.
