Consolidated Plan for 2015 – 2020
The City of Gilroy is currently updating the Consolidated Plan for the 2015 – 2020 planning period. The Consolidated Plan outlines the city’s housing and community development needs and provides an action plan on how the city intends to use its federal funds to address those needs.

Public participation is central to the development of the Consolidated Plan. We are working collaboratively with the County of Santa Clara to host a series of Regional Forums to help identify affordable housing, homeless and community improvement needs over the next five years. We want to hear from you!

Gilroy is strategically located in southern Silicon Valley, approximately 25 miles south of San Jose, California.     City of Gilroy Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) - Program Year 2013
    The City of Gilroy invites the public to review and comment on the Draft Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for Program Year 2013 (July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2014) in advance of its approval by the City Council on September 22, 2014 and submittal to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This report includes project activities, use of funds and statistical information concerning direct benefit to recipients. Citizen comments may be sent to the City of Gilroy, Attention HCD, 7351 Rosanna Street, Gilroy, CA 95020, or emailed to, or by contacting (408) 846-0209 no later than September 22, 2014 for inclusion in the CAPER.

    New State Regulations for Water Conservation
    The Gilroy City Council has passed an emergency ordinance to comply with new state water conservation regulations. These regulations are effective as of August 1, 2014.

    City Council Votes to Place Quality of Life Measure on November Ballot
    The Gilroy City Council has voted to place a measure on the Nov. 4th, 2014 ballot seeking voter approval relating to the enactment of a one-half cent (0.50%) transactions and use (sales) tax for fifteen years. For more information,see the Elections and Voter Information page .

    Around Town – Safer Routes to Schools
    Utilizing a $697,000 federal grant, construction is now underway at 26 locations throughout Gilroy to provide safer routes to schools for Gilroy school children and other pedestrians. All construction work will be completed in May of 2013. View Video
