| Gilroy City Clerk's Office - Vote by Mail Ballot Collection Site |
| The City Clerk’s office will once again be a Voting by Mail ballot collection site for the June 5th primary beginning this Wednesday, May 9th. All vote by mail ballots for all precincts within Santa Clara County can be deposited here, and will be collected by the ROV every Tuesday & Thursday. May 29, 2012, at 5:00 p.m. is the deadline to submit a request for a Vote by Mail ballot if you are a registered voter. The last day to register to vote in the June 5th primary, is Monday May 21st. |

| Gilroy Fourth Quarter 2011 Sales Tax Results Continue Favorable Trend |
Attached is a sales tax update with the most recent sales tax figures from the state of California for the fourth quarter of 2011 (period ending December 31, 2011). Gilroy’s results continue to indicate the City’s favorable economic rebound as a result of its strong sales tax base. Cash receipts are up 4.1% and overall sales tax is up 3.9% for the quarter and 8.3% for the year, after state adjustments. The Bay Area continues to lead the economic growth in California. | The next Coffee with the Mayor is May 26th |
The next coffee is at 9:30 a.m. in the Council Chambers. There are currently many ways in which citizens can engage the Mayor in discussion, but Coffee with the Mayor venues provide an additional, informal setting in which the Mayor can answer questions and otherwise engage in specific or broad discussions on city issues with Gilroy residents.
