We will adhere to and implement the vision of Gilroy as expressed in the City of Gilroy's General Plan. We will strive to ensure that the City of Gilroy is a safe, clean, prosperous, well governed city, in which the citizens are involved in the decision making process.

To accomplish this, we will be an influential voice in regional affairs, so that the interests of the citizens of Gilroy are made known and protected; we will enhance the esteem of our community by ensuring that a wide range of housing and jobs exist for our citizens; that the natural environment is maintained; that residential, commercial and industrial growth are controlled and balanced; that a range of recreational and cultural activities are available to serve all segments of our population; that support is provided for quality education and human services; that the physical infrastructure of the City is maintained, and where necessary, improved; and that significant efforts are expended toward making and keeping the City crime free.
