Street Closures
Any construction or demolition occurring in the City of Gilroy that involves
activities which impede normal traffic flow may require a street closure or
traffic detour. Street closures include both full or partial closure of any
roadways in the City of Gilroy for any length of time. Affected neighbors/agencies
must receive a minimum 72 hour notification prior to start of work.
An Encroachment Permit issued by the Engineering Division at least five days
prior to beginning the work is required for a street closure. A Traffic Control
Plan is required and is to be provided at the time of submittal for approval. Please
allow a minimum of five working days to process a completed permit
application. There is no guarantee that you will receive a permit just
because you submit an application.
