Maria De Leon
Recreation Dept Director

Since 1960, a large part of the Department’s service to the community comes through the variety of classes that we offer. Our Recreation Department Activity Guide, published three times per year (January, April and August) provides a comprehensive listing of all our sites and programs, and is mailed to all Gilroy households. You can also stop by the Recreation Department office for a copy or call our office at (408) 846-0460 for more information.

Early Childhood Recreation Program
Early Childhood Recreation Program Fact Sheet

This is a recreationally-based program that focuses on the “building blocks” to Kindergarten readiness, by providing a series of integrated learning experiences. Our classes are designed to give the young child an opportunity to play and interact socially in a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment, as they learn to become cooperative members of a group.
