Since 1960, a large part of the Department’s service to the community comes through the variety of classes that we offer. Our
Recreation Department Activity Guide, published three times per year (January, April and August) provides a comprehensive
listing of all our sites and programs, and is mailed to all Gilroy households. You can also stop by the Recreation Department
office for a copy or call our office at (408) 846-0460 for more information.
On the following pages are many of the programs offered through the Recreation Department. Registration forms can be found
in the Activity Guide or at the Recreation Department. You may also download our registration form and mail or drop it off
in our office. Early Childhood Recreation, Adult Sports Leagues and Theater must be registered for in person. Call
846-0460 if you have any questions.
Gilroy Children's Musical Theater Auditions
The Gilroy Community Service Department and Theater Director John Bisceglie seek local youth ages 6-25 to star in “Color My World”.
The ultimate outdoor salute to the 60’s comes alive at Christmas Hill Park Amphitheater, with a super selection of chart busting
hits from artists such as The Beatles, The Lovin’ Spoonful, The Monkeys, Three Dog Night, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jefferson
Airplane, Steppenwolf, The Partridge Family, and more! Join the cast of “Color My World” and take part in this uplifting salute
to love, peace, and inspirational music that defined an era.
