Neighborhood Resource Unit
The City Of Gilroy Neighborhood Resource Unit is available to assist with improving
the "Livability" of all neighborhoods in Gilroy. Our goal is to strengthen,
promote, enhance and preserve healthy neighborhoods through outreach, education,
and resources.
The Neighborhood Revitalization unit works to assist neighborhood associations
and those who want to organize to improve their neighborhoods. This is done
through neighborhood meetings, neighborhood clean-ups, community events, school
events, and other neighborhood projects.
The following is a list of services that our unit can assist with.
STOP (Stop Trespassing on Public / Private Property) a program designed
especially for absentee landlords addressing the growing issue of trespassing
on both public and private properties, 602 (n) & (k) PC No Trespassing Penal
Code, assist with Conflict Resolution and Mediation, coordinate Landlord &
Property Management Training workshops, and Community Watch trainings.
In addition, we work very closely with neighborhoods groups (new and existing)
and assist them by encouraging them to apply for neighborhood grants from one
of the following:
- Community Foundation of Silicon Valley Neighborhood Grants Program, www.cfsv.org, (408) 278-0270
- United Neighborhoods of Santa Clara County, www.unscc.org, (408) 286-8661
- Resources For Families and Communities, (408) 528-6700
These neighborhood grants can assist neighborhoods to conduct activities, which
can strengthen or build community, improve neighborhood conditions, and address
issues important to neighborhood quality of life.
