Records

Police reports must be ordered, they will be sent through the US mail in five to ten working days. The price is $0.10 for every page. If a person has been arrested they must obtain a copy of the report after arraignment from the District Attorney's office in Morgan Hill, phone 408-686-3600 or the Superior Court once filed, phone 408-695-5000.

Gilroy Police Department no longer does fingerprinting. Most prints for various jobs are done electronically through the Sheriff's Department in San Martin, phone 408-686-3651 to schedule an appointment.

Bicycle licenses can be obtained at the Police Department Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It is suggested to either bring the bicycle or have the serial number, make, model, number of speeds and size written down. There is no charge. Any questions they should call at 408-846-0300.

It is suggested that the registered owner read the letter sent via US mail for clear and specific instructions. A hearing may be given to the REGISTERED OWNER only and they will be telephoned by the hearing officer within forty eight hours at the phone number provided by them (registered owner). These calls are taken Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 7:00PM. Phone number is 408-846-0300.
