Board, Commission, and Committee Open Seats

2022 ANNUAL RECRUITMENT

The City of Gilroy will be recruiting to fill volunteer opportunities on various Boards/Committees/Commission seats that are currently vacant and with seats that will expire on 12/31/2022. We will be transitioning to a new web application portal soon. 

Seats Include:

Arts & Culture CommissionOne (1) seat with a term expiring 12/31/2024
One (1) seat with a term expiring 12/31/2025
Building Board of AppealsTwo (2) seats with terms expiring 12/31/2026
Open Government Commission One (1) seat with a term expiring 12/31/2024
Two (2) seats with terms expiring 12/31/2026
Parks and Recreation Commission One (1) seat with a term expiring 12/31/2026
Personnel Commission Two (2) seats with terms expiring 12/31/2026
Physically Challenged Board of Appeals Two (2) seats with terms expiring 12/31/2025
One (1) seat with term expiring 12/31/2026
Planning Commission
One (1) seat with a term expiring 12/31/2023 Two (2) seats expiring 12/31/2026
Youth CommissionOne (1) seat with a term expiring 9/30/2024


Next Interview Date for Open Seats: 12/12/2022 City Council Special Meeting. Interviews are conducted in-person.

Next Appointment Date: 01/09/2023 City Council Regular Meeting

Eligibility

To be eligible for appointment to any board or commission, a person shall be a qualified registered elector of the City (Gilroy Charter Section 900).

City Council will interview applicants at a City Council Meeting held via in-person or Zoom.

Applications may be completed and submitted online.


The City of Gilroy has a number of advisory bodies, each with distinct responsibilities. The primary purpose of these advisory bodies is to gather information, weigh public input, and examine issues in depth to render a recommendation to the City Council and the City Administrator.
