Gilroy Online Permit Software (GO Permit)

Gilroy Online Permit (GO Permit) is the City's new enhanced and integrated online permit and inspection service system for residential and commercial projects. GO Permit will provide customers with 24-hour online permit access to submit applications, seek permit approvals, schedule inspections, track permit status, and more. Building DivisionHousing

For general building permit and other building permit questions, please call 408-846-0451 and leave a message. Alternatively, you can come into City Hall during our normal business hours. We can take in applications, review plans, complete inspections, and issue permits.

On-site inspections will only be conducted on those sites adhering to safety protocols outlined in Appendix B. Some inspections may be performed remotely through the use of photos or videos. Please go to the Building-Safety-Division page for more information or call 408-846-0451. Electronic building plan submittals are being accepted and reviewed. All electronic submittal communication will take place over email, phone, or other electronic means. To submit plans, email Plan Submittal an electronic copy of your plans.

Planning Division

For general zoning and planning related questions, please email the Planning Division for fastest service. Alternatively, you can call 408-846-0440 and leave a message. You can also come into City Hall during our normal business hours. Applications should be submitted through the Gilroy Online Permit (GO Permit) system via www.cityofgilroy.org/GOpermit

Fire Inspection, Hazardous Materials and Wastewater Pre-Treatment

Fire Prevention staff are conducting construction inspections, state mandated inspections and responding to life/safety matters. If there is an immediate threat, please call 9-1-1. For non-urgent life/safety fire inspection, hazardous materials or pre-treatment matters, please call 408-846-0451 and leave a message.

Housing and Community Services DivisionCommunity

The Division implements projects and programs to address housing needs for a diverse community and provides assistance to families and individuals that are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. The Division focuses on affordable housing production, preservation, and protection of residents. 

8th and Alexander Affordable Housing Update
The County of Santa Clara and the City of Gilroy are partnering to help meet the affordable housing needs in Gilroy. An affordable housing development is proposed at 8th Street and Alexander Street. See website for more information.
