Code Enforcement Complaints

Complaints may be filed in person, by mail, or phone. Complaints are typically handled in the order they are received. Those determined to be detrimental to public safety or the environment may necessitate more timely enforcement actions.

To file a complaint, please provide as much information as possible to describe the exact nature of the violation, the location and duration of the violation. The enforcement process typically includes an inspection to identify the violation(s). Subsequently, a Notice of Violation may be provided to the property owner, including possible opportunities (if any) to achieve compliance. Our department encourages voluntary compliance with the property owner to correct violations. Where voluntary compliance is not achieved in a timely manner, a Compliance Order may be issued to correct the violation.
