Chestnut Station

Response:
This station houses a fire engine staffed with a crew of three which includes a Fire Captain, a Fire Engineer, and a Firefighter/Paramedic. Additional equipment stationed here includes a 75’ ladder truck and a type 6 engine. These units can be cross staffed with the engine crew when they are needed or staffed with off-duty firefighters who can be recalled for major events. The rescue ambulance is also housed at this station. The rescue ambulance is referred to as Medic 47. This rescue ambulance allows the fire department, by county contract, to provide transportation for patients with life threatening conditions when the county ambulance provider is delayed.

This station is also the Gilroy Fire Departments Administration Headquarters and is staffed with the Fire Chief, three Division Chiefs, a Management Analyst, and a Fire Administration Technician.

Las Animas Station

This station houses a fire engine staffed with a crew of three which includes a Fire Captain, a Fire Engineer, and a Firefighter/Paramedic. Additional equipment stationed here includes a type 3 engine.  The type 3 engine can be cross staffed with the engine crew if needed or both can be staffed with off-duty firefighters who can  be recalled for major events.

Sunrise Station

Response:
This station houses a fire engine staffed with a crew of three which includes a Fire Captain, a Fire Engineer, and a Firefighter/Paramedic. Additional equipment stationed here includes a type 6 engine and a reserve fire engine.

This station is also home to a decontamination trailer and an EMS trailer which are pulled by a stake side truck.  These resources can be deployed throughout Santa Clara County by mutual aid request.
