City Administrator
The City Administrator serves as the chief executive officer for the City and head of the administrative branch of the city government.
City Clerk
The City Clerk serves as a liaison between the public and the City Council and administers democratic processes such as elections, local legislative actions, and public access to city records.

Building & Safety
The Building & Safety Division ensures that new and existing buildings and structures are safe and suitable for their intended uses through building permits, plan checks, and building inspections.
Code Enforcement
The Code Enforcement team is responsible for enforcing land use-related concerns throughout the city limits (including abandoned or blighted buildings, illegal tree removal, and other concerns).

The Fire Department protects the safety of Gilroy residents and businesses by responding to structural and wild fires as well as motor vehicle accidents, medical calls, search and rescue, and other critical emergencies.
Housing & Community Development
Housing and Community Development administers community, state and federal funding programs that benefit low- and moderate-income individuals or neighborhoods through services and capital projects.
Human Resources
The Human Resources Department manages services and programs in recruitment, employee benefits, labor relations, workers compensation, risk management, training, and development.
Planning
The Planning Division promotes sustainable development and encourages quality design and livability of residential neighborhoods, commercial areas and industrial zones within the city's urban sphere.

The men and women of the Gilroy Police Department are dedicated to courageously ensuring the safety of our community.
Public Works
Public Works designs, builds and maintains Gilroy’s water, wastewater, storm drain, street, sidewalk, park, landscape, urban forest and related infrastructure and manages various City facilities and the entire fleet.
Recreation
The Recreation Division offers a variety of activities, classes and events for the whole family to enjoy and also oversees park and facility reservations and volunteer services.
