Compost & Wood Chips Giveaway Event

The City of Gilroy, in partnership with Recology, will be holding a compost and wood chips giveaway event on April 22, 2023.


 What: Compost & Wood Chips Giveaway

 When: April 22, 2023 from 8 AM - noon

 Where: Christmas Hill Park Ranch Site located at 7049 Miller Avenue


Compost is a great soil amendment, improving health, nutritional content, and water retention of the soil. It is recommended that the compost be mixed with regular dirt or soil in a 50/50 ratio for best results.


Residents will be allowed to take one 32-gallon container of compost and up to two cubic yards of wood chips.


Please bring your own shovel, gloves, and containers.
