[ARCHIVED] Red Flag & Local High Fire Risk Warnings

Local High Fire Risk

Red Flag and Local High Fire Risk Warnings are in effect through Sunday, October 29, 2023, for the City of Gilroy due to expected high, gusty winds and low humidity, which increases the threat of wildfires.

Any fires that develop will rapidly spread due to the extreme windy weather and dry fuel conditions.

All residents and visitors are urged to use extreme caution and avoid the use of open flames or using equipment that could cause sparking. Residents in high fire risk areas (Wildland Urban Interface areas) should prepare for wildfires by having a pre-evacuation plan and be ready to evacuate if a wildfire occurs in your area and emergency officials order you to leave.

All Gilroy Fire Stations will be flying red flags as a reminder to residents of the high fire risk.
