Princevalle Street will have alternating northbound and southbound lane closures and detours between Luchessa Avenue and Tenth Street for pavement rehabilitation work starting this week, Friday, August 8, and continuing through next week, on Monday and Tuesday, August 11 and 12. On Wednesday, August 13, Princevalle Street will be fully closed for paving. The work is scheduled to take place between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Detours and flaggers will be in place to route drivers around the closures. VTA will not be stopping at bus stops in the closure area.
Please slow down in the construction area and allow extra time in your schedule for travel.
The improvements to Princevalle Street are part of the City’s annual Citywide Pavement Rehabilitation Project, with plans to improve 13 street segments and two alleys over the next few months.
Following the work on Princevalle Street, crews will begin work on San Ysidro Avenue with lane closures anticipated to begin on Thursday, August 14, between Leavesley Road and the Home Depot northern driveway.
When planning for pavement improvements, street segments are selected for rehabilitation using a Pavement Management Program called StreetSaver. This program is widely used by cities across the Bay Area to evaluate and prioritize the maintenance schedules.
