[ARCHIVED] 2025 State of the City Address Reflecting on Our Accomplishments, Challenges, and Shared Vision

State of the City Mayor Speaking

Thank you to our community and neighbors for being part of a historic and monumental event for our City.

On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Mayor Greg Bozzo delivered the State of the City Address, bringing together community members, City representatives, and other community leaders to reflect on our achievements, acknowledge our challenges, and hear about our shared goals and vision for the future of Gilroy.

State of the City Key Points:

Shared Purpose and Progress: Gilroy continues to move forward with courage, collaboration, and a clear vision, building a future that honors our history while addressing today’s challenges.

Recognizing People and Leadership: The City celebrates its dedicated staff, community partners, regional partners, and executive leadership team, whose expertise, service, and commitment keep Gilroy moving forward.

Accomplishments and Growth: Some of this year’s major accomplishments included the transition to district elections, the launch of GilroyConnect for community service reporting, and advancement on the City’s fourth fire station to improve public safety.

Economic Momentum and Downtown Renewal: Gilroy’s economy is growing with new businesses across the city and exciting momentum is building in the downtown with plans for a new Economic Development Department and Director.

Looking Ahead with Purpose: The Council remains focused on key priorities: addressing homelessness, strengthening economic development, and expanding recreation opportunities — all guided by a shared belief in Gilroy’s spirit, resilience, and perseverance.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us and to all who continue supporting the City’s growth and success.
