Over the weekend, I heard from many of you who are hurting and mourning. I am deeply saddened by the recent tragic accident that resulted in the loss of life in our community in the Glen Loma neighborhood. On behalf of the City and the entire City Council, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones affected by this devastating event.
Moments like this remind us how precious life is and how closely connected we are as a community. We grieve together, and we hold those impacted in our thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.
As we mourn this loss, I want to reaffirm our commitment to supporting the community with compassion and care and invite each of you to do the same. Please take time to look out for one another and reflect on the importance of empathy, patience, and our collective role in fostering compassion and understanding.
Our thoughts will remain with the family, friends, and all those in our community who have been deeply affected by this tragedy. We know you are hurting. Gilroy Unified School District is offering on-site counseling services to students, families, and staff. Additionally, the South County Youth Task Force and the Mariposa Resiliency Center are providing counseling services.
