[ARCHIVED] Warming Centers and Overnight Shelters are Open

Overnight Shelter Update

**UPDATE 2/28: The Gilroy Senior Center will be open for overnight sheltering tonight (2/28) and tomorrow night (3/1) from 9 PM to 7 AM. The center is located at 7371 Hanna Street. Walk-ins are welcome.

Cold temperatures persist, with the National Weather Service predicting continued overnight cold temperatures through Wednesday, March 1. Lows are expected to drop to the low to mid-30s. 

 Santa Clara County is operating several warming centers, including: 

🌡️ Gilroy Library, located at 350 W 6th Street | Open During Normal Business Hours

🌡️ Morgan Hill Library, located at 660 W Main Ave | Open During Normal Business Hours

 Additional warming centers can be found on the County’s website at https://emergencymanagement.sccgov.org/residents/cold-weather-safety

🚌 VTA is offering free rides to warming centers. No proof required. Please let bus drivers know that you are going to or coming from a warming center. For more information, go to www.vta.org.

Options for overnight sheltering in south county are also available. Please call the Here 4 You Hotline to confirm shelter availability at 408-385-2400.

**ACTUALIZACIÓN 28/2: El Centro de Personas Mayores de Gilroy estará abierto para alojamiento nocturno esta noche (28/2) y mañana noche (1/3) de 9 PM a 7 AM. El centro está ubicado en la calle Hanna 7371 y no es necesario hacer reservas, ¡los visitantes sin cita previa son bienvenidos!

Las temperaturas frías persisten, con el Servicio Meteorológico Nacional prediciendo que las temperaturas frías nocturnas continuarán hasta el miércoles, 1 de marzo. Se espera que las temperaturas mínimas desciendan hasta los 30 grados Fahrenheit (entre 0 y 5 grados Celsius).

 El Condado de Santa Clara está operando varios centros de calentamiento, incluyendo:

🌡️ La Biblioteca de Gilroy, ubicada en 350 W 6th Street | Abierto durante el horario comercial normal
