On October 16, 2023, the Gilroy City Council will hold a Public Hearing to consider the adoption of water and wastewater rate adjustments.
The proposed adjusted rates were developed through a Comprehensive Water and Wastewater Rate Study conducted by NBS, which was presented to the public at a community meeting earlier this month.
If adopted, the rate adjustments will become effective on January 1, 2024, and will be adjusted annually thereafter for a five-year period.
Rate revenues received from water and wastewater billing allow the City to invest in critical utility infrastructure, keep pace with rising operational and capital costs, and ensure both systems continually meet or exceed all public health and environmental standards. The last time water and wastewater rates were adjusted was four years ago, in 2019.
What: Water and Wastewater Rate Adjustments Considered for Adoption
When: Monday, October 16, 2023 at 6:00 PM
Where: City Council Chambers located at City Hall, 7351 Rosanna Street, Gilroy, CA 95020.
