Riding an E-Bike? It is important to understand the rules of the road and follow them while riding your electric bike.
There are three types of e-bikes: Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3. While all are considered low-speed electrical bicycles, the requirements vary between them.
Class 3 riders must be at least 16 years old and may not be allowed on bike paths unless permitted by local ordinance or if the bike path or trail is on or next to the road.
Riders under 18 years old must wear a helmet, and Class 3 riders are required to wear a helmet regardless of the age.
