The City of Gilroy is excited to welcome Matt Morley as our new City Administrator. Join us for an Open House to meet Matt. The Open House will take place in the hour prior to the regular City Council Meeting on Monday, February 9, 2026.
As City Administrator, Matt will serve as the chief executive officer for the City, responsible for implementing City Council policies, overseeing day-to-day operations across all departments, and ensuring that city services meet the needs of residents.
We’re excited to welcome Matt’s leadership and vision as we work together to ensure Gilroy thrives for generations to come.

About Matt Morley
Matt brings over 29 years of experience in local government to Gilroy. He previously served as City Manager of Saratoga, Assistant City Manager and Public Works Director of Cupertino, and Parks & Public Works Director of Los Gatos. He began his career with the City of San Jose.
