DRAFT Annual Action Plan

THIS CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD Monday, May 3, 2021 at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the item can be heard.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council will receive public comments on the draft Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-2022 Annual Action Plan and provide direction to staff on funding allocations for the proposed FY 21/22 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Housing Trust Fund (HTF) programs.  The City anticipates receiving an annual allocation of $439,371 in CDBG funds and an additional $168,000 from its local HTF program.

PUBLIC REVIEW PERIOD: In accordance with the City of Gilroy’s Citizen Participation Plan and the requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), regulation 24 CFR 91.105, a 30-Day public comment period, beginning April 2, 2021 and ending May 2, 2021 at 5:00 p.m., is being circulated to solicit public comments and questions regarding the proposed action. The purpose of this comment period will be to provide the public an opportunity to comment on the draft FY 2021/2022 Annual Action Plan.  Comments on the Plan can be emailed to maria.deleon@cityofgilroy.org and will be addressed in the final version of the Plan to be submitted for approval by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  The draft Plan is available on the City’s website at www.cityofgilroy.org/284/Block-Grant-Funds .

Public Participation in this meeting will be limited.  Interested parties are encouraged to participate in this public hearing as this is the time and place when those interested shall be heard and given due consideration.  This meeting will be conducted pursuant to the provisions of the Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20.  In order to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus the City is providing the following telephone, mail and email options for public comments:  You are encouraged to participate in this meeting by watching it live on the City of Gilroy’s website at www.cityofgilroy.org, or on Cable Channel 17.  To view the meeting from the website, select the Council Agendas and Videos button from the homepage.  Public comments can be submitted by mail to the Gilroy City Clerk’s Office, 7351 Rosanna Street, Gilroy, CA, 95020 or by email to maria.deleon@cityofgilroy.org and must be received before the Mayor closes the public hearing for the item.  Additionally, comments may be made by leaving a voice message at (408) 846-0204 prior to 5:00 p.m. on May 3, 2021.
