[ARCHIVED] Excessive Heat Warning

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for our area, with temperatures anticipated to continue to rise throughout the week and peak temperatures expected on Sunday, September 4, and Monday, September 5.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to follow hot weather safety tips and seek relief from the heat at cooling center locations.

Cooling Centers:

  • The Gilroy Library, located at 350 W 6th Street, will be open as a cooling center Tuesday through Sunday during regular business hours. 
  • The South County Shelter at the Armory, located at 8490 Wren Avenue, will be open as a cooling center on Sunday, 9/4, and Monday, 9/5, from noon to 6 PM.
