The National Weather Service has extended the excessive heat warning for our area through this Thursday, September 8, 2022, with temperature highs hovering at or above 100 degrees.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to continue following hot weather safety tips and seek relief from the heat at cooling center locations.
Cooling Centers:
- The Gilroy Library, located at 350 W 6th Street, will be open as a cooling center during the following hours;
- Tuesday: 1 PM - 9 PM
- Wednesday: 1 PM - 9 PM
- Thursday: 10 AM - 6 PM
- Additional cooling centers are available throughout the County, including the Morgan Hill Recreation Center. VTA is providing free rides to select cooling centers during the heatwave.
