[ARCHIVED] Are you ready for the rain this weekend?

Rain Event _ Sandbags

Are you ready for the rain this weekend? The National Weather Service is forecasting moderate to heavy rain starting this evening, Friday, December 30, 2022, and lasting through Saturday afternoon.

With this rain event, Gilroy may experience some localized flooding and a possible closure of Silva’s Crossing, located at Uvas Creek near the intersection of Miller Avenue and Uvas Park Drive.

Sand and sandbags are available outside the gate of the Gilroy Corporation Yard, located at 613 Old Gilroy Street. Residents are advised to bring their shovels and a friend to assist. Additional sandbag locations can be found at valleywater.org/sandbags.

If you are out and about this weekend, please use caution, slow down, and leave extra time in your schedule for possible delays.
