Emergency responders and Public Works Crews worked throughout the night, monitoring creek levels and responding to calls and issues related to the storm.
Fortunately, the storm did not produce the amount of precipitation that had been previously predicted for last night and this morning, and while Uvas Creek continued to rise steadily throughout the night, it did not reach levels of serious concern.
The National Weather Service is predicting lighter wind gusts throughout the morning. Rain is anticipated to continue through the afternoon, with random showers predicted for the evening and Friday morning.
We continue to monitor weather predictions for another storm that is anticipated to hit the Bay Area next week. This storm is currently anticipated to be less impactful that the last few storms.

Sand and sandbags are available outside the gate of the Gilroy Corporation Yard, located at 613 Old Gilroy Street. Residents are advised to bring their shovels and a friend to assist. Additional sandbag locations can be found at valleywater.org/sandbags.

Warming Centers and Overnight Sheltering Resources
Santa Clara County is operating several warming centers throughout the storm including the:
Gilroy Library, located at 350 W 6th Street | Open Wednesday from 1 PM – 9 PM and Thursday from 10 AM - 6 PM
Morgan Hill Library, located at 660 W Main Ave | Open Wednesday from 12 PM – 9 PM and Thursday from 10 AM – 6 PM

VTA is offering free rides to warming centers. No proof required. Please let bus drivers know that you are going to or coming from a warming center. For more information, go to www.vta.org.
Overnight sheltering may be available at the South County Armory through HomeFirst. Call 408-539-2105 for help or to direct someone in need of assistance.
